Since I last wrote nothing too exciting has been happening. Last weekend Becky's friend from Nagano came to visit her. We showed him around Handa and then spent two days in a row in the Nagoya/Sakae area.
Today there was a festival in Sakae to commemorate these three samurais from a long time ago, I think. The festival itself was kind of lame. Maybe we came late and all the cool stuff was gone, but all we saw were lots of food booths and loads of people walking around.
The festival was in this really neat park.
Here's a picture of a cool fountain there:

Then we saw these four Japanese guys dressed as like American 50's greasers. Becky said they're pretty famous but their whole act was just dancing around to 50's songs. Their dancing wasn't even cool or special. They were just kind of moving around, but nothing outrageous. Anyone could have done that. Anyway, here's a picture of them:

Also in the same park, we saw this really neat rocks and water area. This whole park is in the middle of a bunch of humongous buildings so all this nature stuff really stands out. Here's a picture of this thing:

Even though the weather was awful this past weekend, I still had a lot of fun and did some cool things. On Sunday, Becky and I went to this town on the coast called Utsumi. We walked through this awful wind and rain to the beach. It was lots of fun even though we were drenched and freezing.

Today I went to Nagoya and Sakae to walk around and look at stuff. On top of the Sakae train station, there's this pool of water that has a clear bottom so you can see down into this one area of the station. The pool of water is way up high, so it's pretty cool. Here's a picture of it. And ya, that's a ferris wheel in the background! It's connected to some random building. Then I just walked around a whole lot. Then I came back to Handa and went to work to plan for tomorrow. It's just my luck that the whole weekend it was rainy and cold. Of course the TV said that tomorrow will be beautiful though. That's no good to me when I'm at work!
